Arthouse Converter’s Top TellTale Games

  1. Tales from Borderlands
  2. Game of Thrones
  3. Walking Dead Season 1
  4. The Wolf Among Us
  5. Walking Dead Season 2
  6. Back to the Future
  7. Jurassic Park

  1. Tales from Borderlands is Serenity meets Blade Runner meets Pulp Fiction. How awesome is that? How crazy is it that you can say that a game did that? What else do you need to know?
  2. Game of Thrones: Unlike 3, where you shoot and decide what to do to survive, Thrones is about politics, manhood, and manipulating people. It’s more about lack of choice rather than choice.
  3. The Walking Dead Season 1: It rightfully won Game of the Year that year. It was satisfying and brought about a new era of Tell Tale, after what we could be complaining about all the mistakes made in number 6 that could’ve went even more out of control thanks to low morale, budget and other issues.
  4. The Wolf Among Us: I think they mainstreamed the storytelling a little bit with the voice acting and art direction, but it’s just really awesome seeing fairy tale characters act and beat the crap outta each other. P.S. Screw you, South Park, BIGBY WOLF.
  5. The Walking Dead Season 2: It’s sorta like a Terminator 2. Upsetting that the first Tell Tale sequel didn’t innovate, and felt a little cheapened, but it wasn’t number 7.
  6. Back to the Future: Really overrated. It has good production value, but I’ll get into the issues with the game design and story. Decent pilot to a good studio.
  7. Jurassic Park: When I think of Jurassic Park, I think of dinosaurs eating things. When I think of the game, I think of suburban daughter trying to do Spanish homework in Jurassic Park of all places!
