Blue Dragon will be made available as a backwards compatible title for Xbox One, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer. Spencer was reluctant but confirmed the news to a fan on Twitter. He didn’t provide a a release date, but it’s cool Xbox One users will be able to get their hands on the rather great Mistwalker game sometime in the future. Especially if for whatever reason they didn’t own the popular Xbox 360 console.
Blue Dragon is the latest, a rare non-Dragon Quest single-player, open world RPG, mixed with Akira Toriyama’s designs and Hironobu Sakaguchi’s management, the team who brought you legendary JRPG Chrono Trigger. Blue Dragon’s combat featured traditional turn-based mechanics. The game also featuredsa charge mechanic which allowed the player to charge a spell before casting it, and the more powerful you wanted the attack to be, the longer it took to charge. Fun game when it released in 2007, one of the few games I opted to keep instead of trading in when my last 360 stopped reading discs.
Facebook made a blunder, saying it was a popular RPG though. There goes Facebook fact-checking again. XD
