Why the release of the Sega Mega Drive 28 years ago didn’t matter

Quite honestly, the console didn’t do well in Japan. 400,000 in sales at launch. The PC Engine was out already. No Sonic. Weak launch.

The Saturn actually did a lot better being second place in Japan opposed to the Nintendo 64 in the United States.
