This is an interesting article to go back to now that Epic Games is a third party developer for the Nintendo Switch.
There was no denial from Epic Games on the subject.
Will they possibly enhance Splatoon or Splatoon 2?
Microsoft Studios acquired all rights to the franchise this morning, putting new Canadian studio Black Tusk in charge. Microsoft announced that Gears of War veteran former Epic Games director of production Rod Fergusson had been hired to oversee development of the franchise. He also previously helped BioShock Infinite get out of the door. Fergusson said his new job back with Epic Games “really feels like a homecoming.”
Epic Games said it had licensed Unreal Engine 4 to Microsoft for use on future projects, presumably including this one.
Epic Games will meanwhile be working on other projects.
